Description for B&B:
This unique mansion offers 4 exceptionally spacious guestrooms, each with its own distinct style and private shower room. The rooms also boast stunning views that are perfect for inspiring painters. Once the home of the Duke de Lévis-Mirepoix, this house exudes charm and character, highlighted by a magnificent gallery adorned with stained glass windows, rococo plaster, and decorative tiles.Located in the captivating bastide village of Léran, which dates back to the 13th century, the striking silhouette of the duke's grand chateau dominates the skyline. At Le Castelou, guests can engage in various art and film-making activities, with a range of courses available for all skill levels. The facilities include painting easels, studios, and digital media resources.
The design of our 4 bedrooms aims to create a sense of spaciousness while emphasizing the beauty of shapes and angles within the rooms. Le Belvédère, for instance, features a staircase leading to its own private balcony, offering a breathtaking panoramic view. This is the perfect spot to enjoy an aperitif while admiring the architectural marvels of the Chateau, the picturesque church of Léran, or the majestic Pyrenees mountains.
La Belle Pyrène is a generously proportioned room that provides magnificent views of the Pyrenees mountains, allowing warm and atmospheric light to fill the space during the afternoons and evenings. Even the ensuite shower room offers a delightful view over the rooftops of the village towards the Pyrenees.
For couples, families, or friends seeking flexibility and ample space, La Suite Léran is comprised of two adjoining bedrooms, featuring double and single beds. The suite also includes a private shower room and overlooks Cours St Jacques, which is part of the historic pilgrimage route along the Pyrenees from France to Spain, known as the Camino Santiago de Campostella.
La Suite Castelou is an impressively spacious room with its own separate salon area, en-suite shower room, and private WC. Stretching over 50 m2 (550 sq ft), this suite is perfect for those who appreciate room to move. The windows, positioned at tree-top level, offer splendid views of Cours St Jacques and the Pyrenees, providing an extraordinary backdrop.

Directions
To reach Léran from Blagnac/Toulouse, take the A61 on the peripherique and follow the signs to Carcassonne, Barcelona, and FOIX PEAGE (not Foix RN 20). Once on the A61 and after passing the toll booth, watch out for the A66 fork towards Andorra. At the next toll booth, the road merges with the N20 towards Foix. Take exit 6 towards Mirepoix and Lavelanet. Join the D119 in the direction of Mirepoix (first exit on the right at the roundabout), passing through Les Pujols, Rieucros, Coutens, and Besset before reaching Mirepoix. At the first roundabout on the outskirts of town, continue straight. At the second roundabout, turn right onto the D625 towards Lavelanet.
If you are coming from Carcassonne, follow the D119 towards Mirepoix. Keep going through Montréal and Fanjeaux towards Mirepoix. After crossing the bridge, follow the signs for "toutes directions." At the second set of traffic lights, turn left and then go straight at the roundabout onto the D625 towards Lavelanet.
Pass through the village of La Bastide de Bousignac until you reach Aigues-Vives (approximately 8 minutes). When you see the sign announcing Aigues-Vives, slow down and indicate left because the left turn to Léran is hidden behind some buildings on the left side of the road. This is the only sign for Léran. The D28 road will lead you directly to the village, which is about a 4-minute drive.
Upon reaching Léran, turn right into cours St Jacques after passing the church. The mairie/school will be on the left, and Le Castelou, located at number 8 Cours St Jacques, will be the next building on the left after the little crossroads. Look for a pale yellow house with white outlines around the windows.
