ENVIRONMENT, view, and neighborhood: The cottage is located in a peaceful countryside hamlet on the outskirts of a forest. The hamlet is home to fifteen residents, as well as a variety of wildlife such as deer and wild boar, which can sometimes be spotted in the garden. There are no nearby buildings obstructing the view, offering a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. While the cottage is attached to the owners' house, it has a separate entrance, ensuring complete independence for guests.inside and outside DEVELOPMENT: The cottage is cozy and inviting, featuring a spacious main living room measuring 30 m² with a kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, and washing machine. A wood stove adds warmth and charm to the space. The living area is overlooked by a mezzanine with a dorm-style setup. The mezzanine includes two beds, one measuring 120 cm and the other partitioned with blackout curtains, measuring 140 cm. A large wardrobe provides ample storage space. The bathroom, also located on the mezzanine, is 6 m² and includes a shower, sink, toilet, and a sizable closet. WiFi access is available, and additional amenities such as a changing table, cot, and high chair can be provided upon request. Please note that sheets and towels are not provided. Pets are accepted under certain conditions.
Situation and nearby cities: The cottage is conveniently located just 5 minutes from the center of Lavelanet. It is also within reasonable driving distance from various cities and attractions including Montségur (13 km), Mirepoix (18 km), Camon (20 km), Foix (25 km), Tarascon (35 km), Pamiers (45 km), Carcassonne (60 km), St Girons, St Lizier, and the valleys of Couserans and Vicdessos (approximately 1 hour away). Additionally, it is a short distance from Cathar castles, medieval towns, and prehistoric sites. Andorra, the sea, and Spain are all approximately 1.5 hours away.
ACTIVITIES & Recreation: The Ariège region offers a wide range of activities for all tastes. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy activities such as canoeing, canyoning, rafting, hydro speed, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, swimming in water bodies, rivers, and mountain lakes, as well as tree climbing. The Olmes Mountains ski resort, located 20 km away, also offers summer activities such as downhill mountain biking, zip lines, archery, and climbing. Nature lovers can explore attractions such as the underground river of Bouiche, Lake Montbel, the Frau gorges, Plateau de Beille, altitude lake, and the Luzenac talc quarry park with bamboo. There are also intermittent Fontestorbes with a fountain, a tree climbing site, and the Bélesta forest. Don't miss the impressive Roquefort Les Cascades waterfalls, which reach a height of thirty meters and create a petrifying waterfall. History enthusiasts can delve into prehistory by visiting caves such as Niaux, Cow, Lombrives, Bédeilhac, and Maz d'Azil, as well as the Prehistoric Park.
