Description:

Description for B&B:

Mas de Garrigue is a remarkable and significant historic residence that dates back to the 15th century. Originally a hunting lodge and fortified farm, it has retained numerous original features, including impressive stone fireplaces, arrowslits, a 15th century window, stone sinks, magnificent oak beams, and pigeon coops.

With great care and respect, Sarah and Steven have undertaken a loving restoration of the house, infusing it with elegant and sometimes contemporary touches. The combination of Irish antiques and art with French architecture creates a delightful and harmonious atmosphere.

Nestled in the beautiful Midi Pyrenees region of South West France, Sarah and Steven extend warm Irish hospitality to their guests. Sarah's culinary education in Paris and Steven's lineage from the renowned Irish culinary and hospitable Allen clan are evident in their commitment to providing exceptional dining experiences. Guests are treated to sumptuous dinners featuring homegrown and locally sourced produce. Each year, Steve raises two "Noir de Gascon" pigs, which Sarah skillfully transforms into delectable terrines, pates, saucisse, and hams. Additionally, Steven ensures the kitchen is always stocked with fresh vegetables, tomatoes, herbs, and even saffron.
