Our Corner of Paradise:
For over 30 years, we have been captivated by Creysseilles and its breathtaking mountain scenery, charming stone hamlets, authentic atmosphere, and friendly locals. In 1985, we had the opportunity to discover and acquire this almost-ruined former farmhouse, which we have gradually renovated. Situated on a ledge at an altitude of 700 meters, our one-hectare property is an ideal place to unwind for a night or relax for a few days. Enjoy the tranquility, stunning views, and hiking trails in Creysseilles and the neighboring towns. Our place is perfect for all seasons - from the spring flowers and yellow broom-covered mountains, to the bearable summer heat by the pool with the sound of cicadas, the smell of cut hay, and the golden colors of the landscape in autumn. In winter, warm up by the fireplace with a cup of tea and a slice of gingerbread or baked kougelhopf. Our house features 2 guest rooms on each side of our living space. Breakfasts and dinners, cooked by the lady of the house, are served in the dining room under the arches of the old stables or on the terrace in summer. We are excited to welcome guests starting May 1, 2013, and share our love for this corner of Ardèche. Martine and Jean-Paul Marchal, along with our pets Allie and Mia (bitches), and cats Chestnut, Chatra, and Saddle.

The House:
This old farmhouse, dating back to the seventeenth century in its oldest part, has been extended over time to accommodate housing needs. It consists of three interconnected buildings, residential housing vaults, a covered porch, a bread oven, and a courtyard enclosed by a gate. The walls have been lowered to enjoy the view and provide access to the pool. The land extends over 1 hectare of meadow and moor, featuring a garden that we restored 5 years ago after discovering a pond fed by a spring.

Nearby Activities:
For those who enjoy walks or bike rides, there is a network of hiking trails and low-traffic roads starting right from our house. Within an hour or two, you can explore the Huguenots' cave, an ancient tomb carved in stone, the church, the watchtower with a 360 ° view, or the volcano Chirouze. We have maps and guides of the area and can provide recommendations based on your preferences. If you prefer to explore the area by car, Privas is a 15-minute drive away, Aubenas is 30 minutes away, Antraigues is 45 minutes away, Vallon Pont d'Arc is 1 hour away, and Mont Gerbier de Jonc is 1 hour and 15 minutes away. For lovers of local products, Privas offers chestnuts from Clement Faugier, charcuterie (stomachs, hams, dried mountain sausages), goat cheese (famous picodons), red Côtes du Rhône (Syrah, Merlot, etc.), and white wines (Chardonnay, Viognier, etc.).

Description for Gite

Appréciations pour Les Chambres du Clair, Creysseilles:

Une semaine sereine et sympathique
Review by: Josette, Sep 20 2016 1:21PM
