Description for Gite

Welcome to Domaine de Marsan, where you can experience the perfect combination of Chambres d'Hotes and Gites. Our property offers a range of amenities including a swimming pool and various games to ensure a memorable stay.

Our Gites have been thoughtfully designed by transforming the old stables and a winemaking barn. We have preserved the charming features of the buildings, such as the half-timbered walls, interior beams, and stonework, while incorporating modern comforts. Each Gite is fully equipped with everything you need for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

On the ground floor, you will find a modern fully equipped kitchen, a cozy living room with a fireplace, a convenient closet, and a toilet. Upstairs, there are comfortable bedrooms, a bathroom with a bath, shower, and toilet, and a mezzanine that overlooks the living room.

Outside, you can enjoy an outdoor eating area with a barbecue on the sunny south side of the building. On the opposite side, there is a garage available for your car.

We offer two types of Gites: La Grive, which accommodates 4 to 6 persons with two spacious bedrooms and a total floor space of 1000sq.ft., and La Palombe, ideal for 6 to 8 persons with three bedrooms and a total floor space of 1370sq.ft.

Each Gite is equipped with a range of amenities including a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, food mixer, cooker, crockery, kitchen utensils, bedding, household linen, TV/video with satellite channels, ironing board, iron, and vacuum cleaner.

Our prices include all electricity, gas, heating, and water charges. The Gites are well insulated and heated by an oil boiler, and we provide wood free of charge for the fireplaces. Each bed is fully equipped with a bedspread, blankets, pillows, sheets, and a mattress cover.

If needed, we can provide a cleaning service for a small charge. We also offer a cot and high chair for babies at no extra cost. Our friendly staff is always available to provide tourist information and assist you with any advice you may need.

For those who are horse trekking, we offer food, a horsebox, and grazing for a small charge.

During your stay, you are welcome to enjoy our swimming pool and other games. We also provide internet access for checking emails.

Directions

Directions to Parleboscq:

To find Marsans Castel, use the GPS coordinates N43 55.300 E0 02.057 (WGS 84).

Driving in France can be different for those who have never driven there before. One of the main differences is that the French drive on the right side of the road. Take note that the biggest risks of driving on the opposite side are starting again after a stop or when turning right. French drivers tend to drive close to you, so be cautious when braking harshly. Flashing headlights in France do not have the same meaning as in the UK. Instead of meaning "after you," it means "I am here and you must get out of my way." It is also used to warn other drivers of police ahead. The police often perform checks, so it is important to have your driving license and all necessary car documents, including the logbook, to avoid on the spot fines. Speaking English or pretending not to understand won't work, as they have multilingual fine forms and will take you to a cash machine to get the money. If you are fined, ask for a receipt, "Un recu sil vous plait," to avoid receiving another fine form later.

Speed limits are enforced in France, with limits of 50 kilometers per hour (30mph) in towns, 90kph (56mph) on ordinary roads, 110kph (70mph) on dual carriageways, and 130kph (81mph) on motorways. These limits are reduced by 20kph in the rain. On-the-spot fines (£80-£150) are issued for most offenses, including speeding. It is important to follow the rules, as the police are keen on catching motorists who do not stop at stop signs or cross continuous white lines. When overtaking, use your indicators and give plenty of room to cyclists, as they are a protected species in France.

During the summer, traffic jams often occur on motorways, especially at toll booths. Look out for a large van on the side of the motorway with a sign that says "BOUCHON" to indicate a jam ahead. Most motorways in France require payment, either a set price for a short distance or a ticket system where you pay at the end of your trip. When paying at toll booths, head for the lanes with a person taking the money. Service stations are available on motorways and are safer to stop at, especially at night, as there have been incidents of highwaymen in some remote lay-bys.
