Embark on an Adventure in the Sidobre

Nestled between Castres and Albi in the south of France, lies the enchanting Sidobre, a truly magical place. This extraordinary granite plateau, unique in Europe, beckons nature lovers and adventurers alike.

Whether you choose to hop on a mountain bike or don your hiking boots, prepare to conquer this remarkable territory. Along the winding paths, you will encounter awe-inspiring giant boulders, including the famous Peyro Clabado, Roc de l'Oie, and Rocher Tremblant. These magnificent rock formations, shaped by the forces of erosion, stand as testaments to the awe-inspiring power of nature.

Yet, the Sidobre offers more than just breathtaking landscapes. It is a land steeped in legends and mysteries. During your exploration, you will stumble upon historically significant sites, such as the Maison du Sidobre or the St Salvy granite quarry, the largest open-air quarry in Europe.

Should you desire a moment of rejuvenation, take a break by one of the numerous streams that meander through the Sidobre or visit the tranquil Lac du Merle. Here, you can try your hand at fishing for trout or crayfish, which we would be delighted to prepare for you.

At every turn, the Sidobre surprises and captivates with its magical allure. It is a place where the wonders of nature are ever-present. Don't delay any further – set out to conquer this extraordinary land!

Directions

To get to the guesthouse, start from Castres and look for the signs directing you towards Roquecourbe or Burlats. Once you reach Lacrouzette, locate the church in the village. From there, take the street that runs along the right side of the church. As you continue on this street, you will come across the École St Joseph and the cemetery. After passing these landmarks, make a right turn onto the Chemin de la Fourézié. Look out for the first house on the left, which has white shutters - that's the guesthouse. You can park your vehicle at the bottom of the house. Rest assured, I will be present to personally welcome you.
