Description for B&B:

Our charming chambres dhôtes, a French Guesthouse or Bed and Breakfast, is situated in the quaint market town of Felletin, a mere 10 minutes away from Aubusson. Located in the La Creuse department of the Limousin Region, our guesthouse is centrally positioned between Limoges and Clermont-Ferrand, making it an ideal base for exploring the captivating Auvergne region, including La Mont Dore and the Puy-de-Dôme.

The main house, which has been meticulously restored while preserving its original features, boasts carefully selected antique furniture. While the majority of the building dates back to the 18th century (as evidenced by the 1761 carving on the fireplace in chambre 1), some sections may even have origins predating this period, as the house is constructed on the site of one of the four gates to the medieval fortified town.

We offer traditional French chambres dhôtes with a touch of luxury, providing spacious and beautifully appointed ensuite rooms at affordable prices. Additionally, we have the pleasure of offering delicious vegetarian evening meals for our guests to enjoy.

The cost for a one-night stay in either Chambre 1 or 2 (for 1 or 2 persons) is 50 Euros. Chambre 3 can be utilized as an apartment, featuring a kitchen and a spacious bathroom with a full-sized bath and a rain-shower. Chambre 3 is priced at 60 Euros with the kitchen or 50 Euros without it.

For those requiring extra beds, we can accommodate them for an additional charge of 10 Euros per bed per night. Our breakfast is available at a rate of 6 Euros per person. Should you wish to indulge in our delectable vegetarian evening meals, the cost is 20 Euros per person for a three-course meal, including cheese and coffee.

Felletin serves as the gateway to the plateau de Millevaches and is enveloped by picturesque countryside, enchanting forests, and serene lakes. La Creuse is a haven for walkers, cyclists, anglers, and photographers due to its year-round beauty. With its splendid churches and captivating architecture, Felletin offers plenty to explore without venturing far.

The water in Felletin is sourced from the mountains, providing a natural, chemical-free refreshment straight from the taps. This water contributes to the delightful flavor of Fellis, a locally brewed beer from a microbrewery in town.

The town hosts a lively market every Friday, while the winter season presents a charming Christmas market. During the summer, a world music and dance festival takes place, alongside other festivities and special events such as a book festival (journée du livre), beer festival (fête de la bière), and the fête de Felletin.

The town square and its tranquil cobblestone streets offer a plethora of amenities, including cafes, bars, restaurants, bakeries, patisseries, two small yet well-stocked supermarkets, banks, gift shops, and a tourist information office. There is also a larger supermarket on the outskirts of town, which can be easily reached on foot.

The churches in Felletin are architectural marvels worth exploring, and the town boasts other hidden gems, like a former diamond processing plant. Renowned for its tapestry, Felletin shares this distinction with its neighbor, Aubusson. Visitors can even tour the famous Pinton factory, where the world-famous tapestry depicting Christ in Coventry Cathedral was produced. For those seeking a chambres dhôtes in Aubusson, we recommend trying 3 Place des Arbres, our luxury guesthouse located just 10 kilometers away. It is the perfect retreat.

The river Creuse gracefully flows by Felletin, offering enchanting evenings by its banks, where one can enjoy a glass of champagne paired with locally produced cheese on delectable French bread.

La Creuse is truly a remarkable destination, allowing you to explore the best of the Limousin region while being on the border of the captivating Auvergne. The awe-inspiring Puy de Dome is within an hour's drive and is a must-visit location. Prepare to be captivated by this breathtaking area.
