Description:
Description for B&B:
What is a "mas"?In the region of Provence, a "mas" refers to a farmhouse. These traditional structures are intentionally built with a southern orientation to shield them from the Mistral, a powerful wind that descends through the Rhône river valley. To regulate temperature, the north side of a "mas" lacks any openings, and the doors and windows are designed to be narrow, providing protection against both summer heat and winter cold. However, it is important to note that not all "mas" are farmhouses. The larger ones, often constructed by the bourgeoisie, are known as Bastides.
A "mas de ville" aims to recreate the atmosphere of a farmhouse, allowing its guests to experience the rustic charm of Provençal countryside living.
