Description:

Description for B&B:

"The true paradises are the paradises that we have lost." (M. Proust). One cannot truly express oneself like Proust after having stayed at home.

Welcome to the country villa "Il Palazzotto," a charming eighteenth-century farmhouse located in the heart of the picturesque Sienese hills. Surrounded by cypress trees, castles, and farms nestled amongst olive groves and vineyards, this villa offers a truly authentic Tuscan experience. Conveniently situated just 30 km from Siena, "Il Palazzotto" allows easy access to all the wonderful destinations in Tuscany. This region is renowned for producing the famous Brunello di Montalcino wine and is dotted with quaint villages and monasteries along the historic "Via Francigena" pilgrimage route from France to Rome.

Our villa comfortably accommodates up to 12 people, with six spacious double rooms and six bathrooms. The ground floor features a large living room, a spacious lounge, and a fully equipped kitchen, all opening onto a panoramic terrace that overlooks a beautiful garden adorned with flowers and plants, including a wisteria pergola. (Watch our video on YouTube: "Il Palazzotto Siena")

Indulge in romantic candlelit dinners on the terrace, surrounded by nature, while admiring the breathtaking views cherished by Leonardo da Vinci. Additionally, we have another delightful terrace at a higher level, complete with a pool and a landscaped sundeck.

The property spans over 42 acres of woods and Mediterranean vegetation, providing a haven for a diverse range of flora and fauna. This natural park with a green route offers guests the opportunity to connect with nature and explore its wonders.

At "Il Palazzotto," we pride ourselves on offering a personalized experience, with the owner and qualified staff readily available to cater to your every need. We can provide valuable information about the surrounding cities, roads, farms, and castles. Our utmost attention is dedicated to the culinary experience, allowing you to savor the authentic flavors of the region through our owner's expertly prepared local dishes, such as Tuscan bruschetta, zuppa di farro, tagliatelle ai funghi porcini, Fiorentina steak, Pecorino cheese from Pienza, extra-virgin olive oil from Tuscany DOC, ricciarelli, panforte, and more.

This historic house has been meticulously restored and renovated while preserving the traditional Tuscan style. The ground floor boasts a cozy living room with two fireplaces, perfect for relaxation. Guests have access to telephone, fax, and internet connection. From the ground floor, you can step out onto the garden terrace or head up to the first floor, where the six bedrooms are located. The elegant dining room, adorned with antique furniture, features a grand table that comfortably seats 14 people.

The first floor comprises six spacious bedrooms, tastefully furnished by the owner with high-quality furniture. Each room offers splendid views, and the corner rooms come with private bathrooms equipped with showers, bidets, and modern amenities. All rooms feature a double bed, and one of them also includes a third bed. The two central rooms boast canopy beds, while the other two have single beds. An additional bathroom with a shower is conveniently located down the hallway, with a sixth bathroom available on the ground floor.

Thanks to its central location, "Il Palazzotto" provides easy access to Florence, Siena, and the surrounding areas. Within an hour or two, you can reach most cities in Tuscany and Umbria, including Assisi and Perugia. Rome is a mere 200 km away from our villa. Our region is renowned for its rich history and natural beauty, with Renaissance treasures in Florence, Gothic marvels in Siena, and Etruscan and Roman influences adding to the cultural tapestry. Do not miss the charming towns of Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pienza, and Monteriggioni. Museums, abbeys, monasteries, Romanesque churches, and Roman baths enchant visitors with their unique charm. Places like St. Antimo Abbey in Montalcino, with its Gregorian chants, the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, adorned with Renaissance frescoes by Sodoma and Signorelli, and the mystical ruins of the Gothic Abbey of St. Galgano, complete the region's remarkable offerings. The diverse landscape of rolling hills, vineyards, olive groves, woods, and fields, which change colors with the seasons, will leave an indelible mark on your memory, becoming part of your voluntary and involuntary recollections, just as Proust would say.
