Located in the heart of the historic village of Nanteuil-en-Vallée (Petite Cité de Caractère) in the Charente region, Villa Taillefer is a spacious private residence surrounded by a walled garden that borders the Canal des Moines and the river Argentor.Gareth and Lesley, the owners and hosts, have meticulously designed the house to create a cozy and tranquil ambiance, incorporating vibrant colors and thoughtful designs. While preserving the house's rich history, they have also incorporated modern comforts to ensure a pleasant stay for their guests.
The villa offers three uniquely decorated bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom. The charming Victor Hugo suite even features its own inviting salon. The garden boasts several seating areas where guests can find a sunny or shaded spot to unwind and enjoy a good book. Breakfast can be enjoyed on the spacious terrace or in the dining room. On Sundays, guests can arrange for a delightful table d'hôtes experience. Additionally, there are two popular village restaurants just steps away.
Visitors with well-behaved and cat-friendly dogs are welcome to stay in the ground floor bedroom, where they will be greeted by Isla, the friendly Cocker Spaniel. The hosts are fluent in both English and French, ensuring a seamless and comfortable stay for guests.
