Description for B&B:
The two rooms are separate from our house and have their own entrance. Each room has its own toilet and shower. The beds are 160x200 cm in size. Breakfast can be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the swimming pool or in the shared conservatory. The rooms are equipped with cable TV and WiFi access is available. Private parking is provided.Esnandes is a charming village in Charente-Maritime, just a ten-minute drive from La Rochelle and Ile de Ré. It is located on the outskirts of the Marais Poitevin, also known as the Green Venice. Our house is situated in the heart of the village, only two kilometers from the sea. You will appreciate the tranquility and peacefulness of the environment. The village is full of charm, with its narrow streets lined with hollyhocks and cream-colored houses. The fortified church, dating back to the 12th century, adds to the architectural richness of the village. Next to the church, you can visit the new Mytiliculture Museum, which tells the history of mussel farming. Esnandes was once a major center for the cultivation of Moules de Bouchot.
Esnandes is also located on the Bay of Aiguillon, with La Rochelle to the south and the beaches of Vendée to the north. The bay is a natural reserve for migratory birds, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. The L.P.O organizes guided walks to explore this natural environment and its diverse bird life. Despite its proximity to popular tourist destinations, such as La Rochelle and Ile de Ré, Esnandes has managed to retain its authentic charm as a seaside village in Charentes. Even during the tourist season, you will be pleasantly surprised by the calm and tranquility of the village. It is the perfect place to relax while still being within reach of La Rochelle, Ile de Ré, and the Marais Poitevin.
You can enjoy bicycle rides along the coastal pathway that surrounds the Bay of Aiguillon, with the impressive Ile de Ré bridge just a short drive away. A walk from the house to Pointe Saint-Clément offers a panoramic view of the bay, where you can also admire the colorful carrelets, traditional cabins used by fishermen and women along the Atlantic coast.
If you're longing for golden beaches, the Vendée coast, including Les Sables-d'Olonne and La Tranche-sur-Mer, is less than forty-five minutes away.
