The Castle River stands proudly upon the remnants of a fortified high camp established by Charlemagne. Gaston de l'Isle constructed this magnificent castle in 1577. In the 19th century, the renowned architect Viollet le Duc undertook its reconstruction. Perched atop the Dordogne valley, the castle offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, including its vast vineyard spanning 59 hectares. Nestled within the Renaissance wing, the castle boasts five elegant guest rooms, each featuring a private bathroom and toilet. These rooms have been meticulously adorned with tasteful furnishings and exquisite decorations, creating an ambiance of relaxation, charm, and sophistication.Reviews
