This remarkable establishment, dating back to the 17th century, has witnessed the presence of nobles, merchants, and traders throughout the years. It was constructed during the reign of the illustrious Louis XIV le Grand, also known as the Sun King.Situated in Arthez-de-Béarn, within the enchanting region of Pyrénées Atlantique, Domain de la Carrère holds a coveted location amidst the splendor of French culture, dynamism, and beauty. Just a short 20-minute drive will transport you to the captivating city of PAU, which perfectly embodies the essence of France. In contrast, the glamorous coastal town of BIARRITZ awaits a mere 40-minute journey. The breathtaking Pyrenees Mountains and the vibrant country of SPAIN can be reached within an hour, while the charming town of ORTHEZ lies only 10 minutes away.
Our collection of photographs showcases two characteristic and spacious bedroom suites, complete with dressing rooms. Each suite offers a choice between two 4-ft single beds or an antique double bed. Additionally, an en-suite large shower room awaits, adorned with a power shower, double sink unit, toilet, hairdryer, dressing gowns, and luxurious toiletries. Tea and coffee facilities, as well as a television, are provided for your convenience.
Should you desire a remarkable dining experience, we offer a quality Table d'hôtes (dinner) service. Indulge in an apéritif, starter, main course, sweet, wine, and coffee, all meticulously prepared upon request.

What is the best way to reach your destination? You have two options for flights: there are daily flights from London to either Biarritz or Pau airports, and during the summer, there are also flights from Bristol. Alternatively, you can choose to travel by car and take the ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo, and then return via Bilbao. You can find a map of Arthez de Béarn on our website.
