"Le Matelot & La Normande" is a charming apartment named after its exquisite Norman cupboard, a cherished family heirloom passed down through generations. The interior boasts a delightful sailor chic decor and vintage buttons, creating a unique and cozy atmosphere. The apartment is bathed in natural light and spans 33 m2, comfortably accommodating 2 to 3 people.Upon entering, you will find a spacious living room (17 m2) with a fully equipped kitchen, a wardrobe dresser inspired by Norman design, a dining table with three chairs, and a daybed (70 * 190) which can also serve as a comfortable seat during the day. The bedroom (9 m2) features a double bed (140 * 190), ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The bathroom (7 m2) showcases an old desk transformed into a basin, a large mirror, a shower, a toilet, a hairdryer, and a wardrobe.
The apartment's decoration combines conventional elements, such as bourgeois moldings and dark wood family furniture, with chic marine accessories and vintage pieces from the 50s and 60s, or modern reproductions. Soft shades of blue, gray, white, and linen adorn the walls, while the living room boasts beautiful parquet floors, the bedroom features seagrass flooring, and the bathroom showcases a painted floor.
Marine-themed objects are tastefully scattered throughout the apartment, and a selection of books is available for your enjoyment. The living room and bedroom face south, providing ample natural light, and a small square with a grocery store can be found nearby. The shower room offers a delightful view of the Halley alley through its cathedral glass windows.
"The Loft Seaman" is a truly unique space with sloping ceilings, exposed beams, a glass bathroom, and a contemporary industrial decor. This studio, spanning approximately 32m2, is designed for two people and offers a comfortable and stylish stay.
The fully equipped kitchen area features a striking black mosaic, and an industrial cloakroom has been repurposed as a dresser. The dining area includes a table and two high chairs, perfect for enjoying meals. The sleeping area boasts a king-size bed (160 * 200), ensuring a restful night's sleep.
The shower room is enclosed by a canopy and features a spacious tiled shower, an old wooden bench transformed into a basin, a toilet, and a hairdryer. Commodus, trunks, baskets, and hooks add to the industrial charm of the space.
The decor of "The Loft Seaman" is characterized by shades of white, pale gray, taupe, black, and wood. The exposed beams and metal canopy create a unique and stylish ambiance. Antique flea market furniture and industrial elements add to the character of the studio, while marine-themed objects and books are thoughtfully placed throughout.
The studio offers two large Velux windows on the night side and kitchen, complete with fitted blinds and sunshades. From these windows, you can enjoy views of the sky, the rooftops, and the Virgin fires. Additionally, a small skylight in the bathroom adds to the natural light and ambiance. Lastly, a dog sitting area provides a charming vista overlooking the rooftops.

If you are traveling by car:
- When arriving in Bayeux via RN 13, follow the signs to Port-en-Bessin.
- If you are coming from Paris, take the A13 to Caen and continue on RN13 (4 lanes) to Cherbourg. Take the exit for Bayeux / Port en Bessin.
- Once you reach Port en Bessin from Bayeux, at the Montgomery roundabout, go straight and continue on the street until you reach the end of Bayeux. You will arrive at the port.
- Turn left onto Quai Faure and continue for about 150 meters, then turn left onto Fountain Street.
- Take another left onto the state road. Halley Street, a pedestrian street, will be on your left.
Parking:
- Halley Street is a quiet street with no cars. However, you can park for a few minutes before the house to unload your luggage.
- Afterwards, you can park in one of the nearby free car parks:
- Place Stella (50 meters away)
- Cousteau Place (100 meters away)
- Gaudin Place, near the Vauban tower (250 meters away)
- Place de la Halle aux Poissons (Epi Leroy) (300 meters away)
If you are traveling by train:
- The closest train station is Bayeux, which is accessible from Paris / St-Lô or Cherbourg Gare St Lazare (2 hours and 5 minutes).
- If you need a taxi, you can make a reservation with Taxi Co trans- wore at 06 08 10 28 68.
- Alternatively, you can take the "green buses" from the train station to downtown Port-en-Bessin.
