Chateau La Mothaye is conveniently situated between Angers and Saumur, just a five-minute drive from the A85 motorway. This makes it an excellent choice for a stopover or a vacation in the beautiful Loire region. From here, you can easily explore the stunning chateaux, historic towns, abbeys, wine fields, and much more.
If you're traveling by car from the Channel Ports, the journey from Calais or Boulogne typically takes around 4.5 hours. Opting for a ferry crossing to one of the southern French ports, such as Le Havre, Cherbourg, Caen, or St. Malo, can shorten your driving time in France, but the crossing itself will take longer. The drive from Paris to Chateau La Mothaye usually takes approximately 3 hours.
For those preferring to travel by train, the nearest TGV station is in Angers, which is only a 30-minute journey from Angers St. Laud station. Eurostar services from London Waterloo (St. Pancras in 2007) or Ashford also provide routes to Angers and Tours. The high-speed TGV trains run from Paris to Angers in just 90 minutes.
