Welcome to our charming Bed & Breakfast located in the historic servants quarters of an old château. If you appreciate personalized service, luxurious comfort, and a unique atmosphere, then our establishment is perfect for you. Our exclusive B&B, situated in the former washhouse of the château, offers spacious rooms (>25 m²) with high exposed roof beams and tasteful antique furnishings. Each room includes an impeccable private shower room and toilet.

In addition to your room, you will have access to a large lounge filled with English, French, and German books from our library, as well as a hall with tourist information. You will also have your own private entry and garden to enjoy. After a peaceful night's sleep surrounded by nature, indulge in a delicious breakfast featuring homemade treats and enjoy the view of the park from the lounge. In the afternoon, after a day of exploring, hiking, or cycling, take advantage of the relaxing atmosphere of Joreau. You can unwind by reading a book, sampling fruits from our orchard, or taking a nap in the hammock under a beautiful old tree.

For dinner, you can choose to dine at one of the delightful nearby restaurants or stay at Joreau. We offer a gourmet plate with wine and coffee by prior arrangement, or you can make use of our basic kitchen facilities in the lounge. Our ensuite room, "Cremant de Loire," is perfect for a relaxed family holiday, with one double and one twin room and a private shower room. "Saumur Champigny" provides ample space (26 m²) to make you feel at home, with comfortable beds that can be arranged as a king-size bed or two singles. The room is tastefully decorated with an antique wardrobe and two armchairs. The private bathroom with a separate toilet was recently renovated at the beginning of this year.

Description for Gite

The Farm of Joreau is a charming holiday home that offers modern comfort and a cosy atmosphere. The house combines traditional architectural elements such as touffe stone, slate, terra cotta tiles, old wood parquet, and ceiling, providing a unique and authentic experience for 4-5 persons.

Completely renovated in May 2006, the house features a spacious south-terrace with garden furniture and a barbecue, perfect for enjoying outdoor meals. Additionally, guests have access to a private 800 m² garden with beautiful views of the surrounding woods. Children can have fun playing in the sandbox and on the swing while adults relax with a glass of wine.

Entering the house, you'll find a welcoming living room with a fireplace on the ground floor. From there, you can proceed to the dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. The upper floor is home to two bedrooms (one double bed measuring 160*200 cm and one twin bed measuring 80*200 cm) and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. The beds will be prepared for your arrival, and we can provide a baby cot and chair upon prior arrangement. Firewood is also provided free of charge.

The Farm of Joreau is located in Gennes, a charming village situated on the border of the Loire River. It is conveniently located just 15 km (<10 miles) from Saumur and Doué-la-Fontaine, and 30 km (<20 miles) from Angers. Shopping facilities are less than 1 km (0.5 miles) away from the gîte and are open 7 days a week.

Nestled in the heart of the regional nature reserve "Loire-Anjou-Touraine," the house serves as an ideal starting point for cultural, gastronomic, and nature-related expeditions suitable for all ages. Hikers and bikers will particularly appreciate that the Domaine de Joreau is situated directly on the long-distance path GR3 and the Loire Valley bike trail.
