Description for B&B:

Our house, Ygeia or Hygieia, is named after the Greek Goddess of Health. Perhaps that's why it feels so rejuvenating to be there!

We instantly fell in love with this house in 2009 and have been visiting as often as we can. We have put in all the hard work ourselves, except for major construction projects like the pool, which is why it's taking a bit longer to complete. We decided to rent it out as a gite to help with the expenses and also to share this incredible place with others. We truly hope that you have a fantastic time and enjoy the property just as much as we do!

We warmly welcome you to our home, a charming traditional French country house. We have preserved its old-fashioned charm while adding the comfort of modern amenities. We are confident that you will adore the house, whether you're outside on the exceptional river terrace, in the lush green garden, or inside the cozy and comfortable rooms.

Flaujagues is located 15 km from St Emilion, the famous medieval village and vineyards, which is a designated UNESCO world heritage site. Additionally, it is 50 km from Bordeaux and about an hour and a half away from the Atlantic coast and the Bassin d'Arcachon, renowned for its beaches and oysters, as well as the Medoc region, known for its excellent wines. Flaujagues is situated in the Entre-deux-Mers, celebrated for its wines, magnificent medieval villages, and numerous hiking trails. There are also four golf courses nearby.

The southwest of France is a paradise for food lovers, with a wide range of restaurants catering to all tastes. From the prestigious Hostellerie de Plaisance in St Emilion with its Michelin-starred chef, to La Puce, a humble eatery for local vineyard workers, the choices are diverse and delightful. You can savor anything from a succulent side of beef to the local delicacy of la Lamproie, or indulge in pigeon or oysters from Arguin. The options are endless, and we will be more than happy to guide you in the right direction. If you enjoy cooking, we can recommend the best places to shop for the finest products and wines.

Our location is conveniently situated between two international airports: Bergerac, which is connected to England through Ryanair (40 km away), and Bordeaux Merignac (50 km away).
