Description for B&B:
Welcome to our guest house nestled among the olive trees in Balagne, where you can relax by the pool.If you're looking to explore the beautiful region of Balagne while being close to Calvi and the red island, Calenzana is the perfect choice. Just a 15-minute drive from Calvi and 25 minutes from Ile Rousse, you can easily wander the charming streets of Calvi and its historic citadel, bask in the sun on the nearby beaches of Calvi Bay, or venture a little further to discover paradisiacal white sandy beaches with turquoise waters, such as Ghjunchitu, Bodri, Ostriconi, and Lozari near the red island.
However, if you prefer a tranquil retreat, our property offers a peaceful atmosphere for you to unwind by the pool or on the private terrace of your spacious double room, which can accommodate up to three people. Each room features a comfortable 180/200 double bed, a convertible single bed, a large flat-screen TV, and WiFi. You can also enjoy a 15 m2 terrace with private garden furniture.
We provide a common area for our guests, which includes a lounge, board games, table football, a dining table, and a small kitchenette equipped with a refrigerator and microwave. Outdoor activities such as petanque, swings, and a slide are also available. The pool is equipped with a security system, including an audible alarm and a gate for access.
Start your day with a hearty breakfast served under the pergola by the pool, offering panoramic views of the surrounding villages and mountains. The breakfast includes homemade pastries, local products, fresh fruit, and Corsican deli meats. In case of inclement weather, we have a pool house where breakfast can be served.
During your stay, you will have access to the pool house at any time to prepare coffee or tea.
Calenzana is not only known as the starting point of the famous GR 20 hiking trail and the Mare e Monti trail, but also for its rich heritage and history. Explore the village with its charming church and bell tower, or visit the main square where 500 German soldiers were buried during World War II. Don't miss the Chapel of the Holy Restitude, where a sarcophagus from the 4th century was discovered beneath the altar.
Our location also allows easy access to other beautiful villages like Montemaggiore and Sant'Antonino, both classified as "The Most Beautiful Villages in France." Make sure to visit the ghost village of Oporto, which offers breathtaking views of the entire bay of Calvi and the marina of Sant Ambrogio. You can reach the village of Oporto via a small path from Lumio.
In addition to the rich cultural and historical attractions, our region offers a multitude of activities for outdoor enthusiasts. From water sports and diving to horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, 4x4 adventures, quad biking, and exciting sea excursions, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
