Description for B&B:
Le Gaudin is a charming 18th-century farmhouse that has been transformed into a magnificent 5 bedroom luxury bed and breakfast. Nestled in the picturesque valley of Suisse Normande, where an ancient Abbey once stood, this historic property is surrounded by lush woodlands. In the past, pilgrims on their way to Mont-St-Michel would replenish their water bottles from the stream that flows through the wooded grounds. Le Gaudin is truly a unique and special place. While preserving the original character of the farmhouse, we have enhanced and restored it to cater to the discerning modern traveler. Every aspect of the house reflects the creativity and charm of the region, from the exposed stone walls to the grand fireplace and the communal dining table where guests gather for our exceptional and convivial dinners.
Situated on a four-acre estate, Le Gaudin boasts manicured lawns and its own serene lake. The surroundings are tranquil, allowing guests to enjoy the melodic songs of birds and the soothing sound of horse chestnuts falling in autumn. The absence of light pollution also makes it an ideal location for stargazing.
Each bedroom at Le Gaudin is more like a suite, offering spaciousness, en-suite bathrooms, and breathtaking views. Every room has its own distinct style and unique details that not only provide comfort but also immerse guests in the local way of life.
Whether you wish to unwind by the crackling log fire with a glass of Calvados, lose yourself in a captivating book on our plush sofas, or enjoy delightful company and exquisite meals at our expansive dining table, Le Gaudin promises an unforgettable experience. The property also showcases WWII artifacts, picture books, and more, ensuring there is always something intriguing to discover.
At Le Gaudin, we understand the importance of starting the day right, which is why we take breakfast very seriously. Each morning, guests are treated to a plentiful selection of fresh breads, pastries, cereals, meats, cheeses, and yogurts. A variety of juices, tea, and coffee are also available to suit every taste.
