Description for B&B:
Located at the junction of the Yonne river and the Canal du Nivernais, the village of Mailly-la-Ville offers a unique setting for boating, canoeing, fishing, swimming, or leisurely walks. The river and canal are prominent tourist attractions, especially since the village is adjacent to the picturesque "Les Coûtas" coastlines, which used to be covered in vineyards until the early 20th century. These coastlines provide stunning views from the paths originating in the village center.Situated overlooking one of the locks of the Canal du Nivernais, there are three guest rooms available on the first floor of a 17th-century building, separate from the owners' residence. On the ground floor, a relaxation area is provided for guests, including a fully equipped kitchen for dining and meal preparation. Guests also have access to a shared inner courtyard.
With a total capacity of 8 people, the guest rooms can be transformed into guest houses by booking all three bedrooms simultaneously. The "Les Coûtas" guest rooms are open year-round.
One of the guest rooms, called "Chambre du Père Leleu," accommodates up to 4 people and offers a privileged view of one of the locks of the Canal du Nivernais and the Yonne River. This family suite is named after a local character, Father Leleu. Father Leleu, a former Communard, settled in the neighboring commune of Saint-Moré in 1887. He resided in a cave overlooking the Cure, Roche Percee, where he discovered numerous prehistoric remains. Father Leleu made use of his troglodyte living environment, showcasing his "apartments" and displaying live vipers. In 1913, his body was found inside the cave, leaving a mystery surrounding his death. However, his legend lives on. Your stay could be an opportunity to follow in Father Leleu's footsteps.
The family suite consists of two rooms with a double bed and two bunk beds, a private bathroom, and a separate toilet. A conversion is available for children under 6 years old. The double bed measures 140 cm, while the single bunk beds measure 90 cm. The bedroom is equipped with two desks and two storage cabinets. Additional amenities include electrical heating, a shower room with a shower, washbasin, heated towel rail, and a hairdryer.
