Description:

Description for Gite

Mas de la Gache is a charming old farm, dating back to the early 17th century. Over the past 12 years, our dedicated team (Esmé, Eddie, Julia, and Lucie) has worked tirelessly to restore and rejuvenate this historical site. In addition to our small-stock farming, we have also constructed a delightful holiday apartment, allowing us to share our unique spot on the map of France. The apartment is nearly complete and will be available for rent starting this summer.

Nestled peacefully outside the village, a mere 15-minute walk away, our "Mas" offers a tranquil retreat separated from the bustling village life by the serene Cèze River. This distance ensures that our guests can enjoy our little slice of paradise without the disturbances of traffic noise, streetlights, crowded resorts, or nosy neighbors. What we do offer is abundant peace and quiet, a sky full of stars at night, the melodious songs of birds and treehoppers, the cheerful sounds of chicks and roosters, fresh eggs, and delicious tomatoes. Furthermore, the favorable climate for most of the year adds to the appeal. In short, we provide the perfect place to rest and simply do nothing. It is an ideal spot for long siestas in the shade of trees on the riverside, leisurely breakfasts, and delightful dinners featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.

For a reasonable price, you can indulge in a high-quality experience in the enchanting southern region of France. Our priority is to offer ample space and tranquility around the farm, something we greatly appreciate and hope you can fully enjoy during your stay. Picture waking up in the morning and stepping outside with a cup of coffee to savor the soothing symphony of birdsong and the gentle murmur of the river. Here in the south, life unfolds outdoors. However, this did not deter us from creating an 80 m2 apartment on the first floor of one of the barns. It boasts a roof terrace overlooking the courtyard, two spacious double (or triple) bedrooms with private bathrooms, and a large open living area combined with a fully-equipped kitchen. Restored in accordance with traditional building styles, the apartment provides a refreshing space during the warm summer days.

Inside, you will find all the comforts you need for a pleasant stay, including a well-equipped kitchen, television, a cozy wood-burning stove, and heated bathrooms. Outside, as mentioned before, there is plenty of space to play, take leisurely walks, or simply relax and unwind. Goudargues, a charming village with a population of around 1,000 residents, is steeped in history that spans several centuries, evident in its architecture and surroundings. Located in the "Le Gard" department, Goudargues is known as the "Venice of the Gard" due to its network of charming canals that meander through the village center. As the hub of eco-tourism in the area, Goudargues offers a variety of amenities, including bakeries, a butcher, hair salons, beauty parlors, a village supermarket, numerous bars and restaurants, a post office, a tourist information center, and a selection of specialty shops. These activities infuse Goudargues with a lively atmosphere, distinguishing it from other beautiful yet lifeless villages.

Despite its popularity among visitors, Goudargues maintains a relaxed and unhurried pace of life, allowing you to savor a refreshing cold beer or a glass of pastis on one of the terraces lining the canals, all while basking in the shade of the village's 200-year-old plane trees.
