Riad Dades, a majestic kasbah, overlooks the stunning Dades Valley. All of our rooms offer breathtaking views as they open up to the beauty of the valley.The adobes, a traditional construction system, consist of mud and straw bricks that are dried by the sun. These bricks are used to build thin walls, pillars, arches, and decorative elements, all bound together by the same mud and straw mixture.
Another construction method used is pisé, or rammed soil. This involves piling damp earth without straw into a wooden formwork and compacting it to create a solid structure. The formwork is then removed, leaving characteristic holes in the pisé buildings, which can also be filled with soil if desired.
Both the interior and exterior walls and roofs are coated with a mixture of mud and straw. This coating is renewed every six years for the walls, while the terraces require renewal approximately every two years.
The ceilings of Riad Dades are constructed using reeds on wooden beams made from aspen trees. These reeds can be replaced with bamboo stems to create intricate geometric designs. The entire ceiling is then covered with a layer of soil, approximately 25 centimeters thick.

To reach the riad in Ait Ibrirne, follow these directions:
If you are coming from Tinghir, as you pass the town of Boumalne Dadès and cross the Oued Dadès bridge, take the secondary road N704 (Boumalne Dadès to Msemrir) at the roundabout just before Boumalne Dadès. The riad is located 9 km from this roundabout in the beautiful village of Ait Ibrirne. The GPS coordinates are 31.436579°N, -6.010036°E.
If you are using public transport, the Boumalene Dadès bus station is only 9 km away from Ait Ibrirne village where the riad is located. If you let us know your arrival time, we can pick you up from the bus station. At the bus station, you will find two types of taxis available. The mini-buses, mostly Mercedes Benz 207 or 307, can accommodate 15 passengers. We also have grand taxis, which are usually Romanian cars called Dacia Lodgy, and they can accommodate six passengers plus the driver. The cost for the trip is 5 DH per person. Just mention that you are going to Riad Dades, and everyone will be able to assist you in reaching us.
If you are arriving at Ouarzazate airport, it is 130 km away from the riad. It takes approximately 2 hours by private car or taxi, and the cost of a taxi is 3 € per person. Many buses leave Ouarzazate heading towards Boumalene Dadès, and we can arrange to pick you up from the Boumalene Dadès bus station. Just inform us of your arrival time.
