Welcome to La Fromental, a charming family-run Bed & Breakfast nestled in the undiscovered Cantal department of the picturesque Auvergne region in central France. Our primary goal is to ensure that you enjoy a peaceful and stress-free holiday experience.Situated in the heart of the Parc Natural Regional des Volcans, our exquisite establishment is a beautifully restored Cantal farmhouse originally constructed around 1850. Surrounded by seven acres of enchanting sylvan scenery, you will be treated to breathtaking views of the majestic Puy de Sancy, the highest peak of the Massif Central.
At La Fromental, we offer comfortable bed and breakfast accommodations, or as the French call it, chambres d’hôtes, on a daily basis. For those seeking a convenient dining option, we are delighted to provide evening meals upon request for a supplementary fee. Our establishment features four rooms, each equipped with private bathrooms and double beds. Additionally, we have a spacious family suite that includes a separate room with two single beds, perfect for accommodating children.
To start your day off right, a delectable breakfast awaits you in our charming dining room or out in the garden. Indulge in a delightful assortment of freshly baked bread and croissants from our local village baker, along with homemade jams, honey, fruit juice, cereals, boiled eggs, and your choice of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. Directions
Travel directions from the South: Take the A75 and exit at exit 6. Proceed through Plauzat, Champeix (D978), and Besse-en-Chandesse. Once in Besse, continue on the road towards Condat for approximately 7 km. Then, take a right onto the D203 towards Picherande and continue for a few kilometers. At Chomeille, turn left towards Saint-Genès on the D614. Once in Saint-Genès, head towards Bort-les-Orgues. At La Crégut, follow the signs for Bort-les-Orgues/Champs-sur-Tarentaine. After about 3 km, bear right towards Marchal on the D622. Upon entering Marchal, take a left onto the D622 (heading for Lanobre). In 100m, turn right into La Fromental and continue for another 150m to reach the house.
Travel directions from Corrèze (Ussel): Upon reaching Bort-les-Orgues, pass the dam and continue towards Clermont-Ferrand. Drive through Lanobre and after 4 km, approximately 100m after passing an information kiosk on the left, take the D622 on the right, towards Marchal. Follow this road for 8 km. Go over a mini-crossing, still following Marchal, then in 3.5km, take a left turn towards La Fromental, 100m before entering Marchal. Continue over the hill for another 150m to reach the house.
