Directions
To reach Les Chambons easily by car, you have two options. Firstly, if you are coming from the N89 at Thenon, you can take the D704 from Limoges. Secondly, you can take the D704 from Limoges directly.
If you choose the D704 route, after passing Saint Agnan (by Hautefort), look for the signpost for Sainte-Orse. It will be about 10 minutes past Saint Agnan. Follow the signs for Sainte-Orse and continue for another 10 minutes until you reach the center of Sainte-Orse, which is a very small village. At the small crossroads in the village, you will see Hotel de France on the left and the Marie on the right. Take a right turn and go down the hill. At the bottom of the hill, take the left turn signposted Gabillou. Stay on this road for 4km, making sure not to go left towards Gabillou. After passing the Gabillou turning, you will see a charming stone cottage called Le Chambon, which is our neighbor. Les Chambons is the large house on the left, just after Le Chambon. Proceed past the side of the house and make a sharp right turn (slowly!) through the large iron gates into the courtyard. You may need to do a two-point turn to accomplish this.
If you are coming from the N89, which passes through Thenon, follow the road until you reach the main crossroads in Thenon. At the crossroads, turn left towards Sainte-Orse. This route will take you approximately 7km, and you will pass under railway and motorway bridges. Look for another sign to Sainte-Orse (6km) and follow it to the small village. On this route, you will also see signs to Gabillou, which is a more complicated route we can explain to you once you have found us for the first time. Once you are in Sainte-Orse, follow the signs for Gabillou. This will take you through the village, down a hill, and then left towards Gabillou. Continue on the D70 road for about 4km, avoiding the left turn uphill towards Gabillou. We are located just past the tiny locality of Vaudres and below the actual village of Gabillou. Follow the directions as mentioned above.
