MiKa-GaLe is a charming 3-bedroom longere located in the peaceful and rural village of Ploerdut, in the beautiful Morbihan Region of Brittany. Nestled on 1.75 hectares of private garden and land, this cozy cottage comfortably sleeps 6 people, with the possibility of accommodating larger groups upon request.The location of MiKa-GaLe is simply idyllic. Surrounded by rolling green hills and quiet wooded valleys, which have been carved out by the area's three rivers, Ellé, Scorff, and Aër, it offers a truly tranquil setting. The countryside is adorned with an extensive network of footpaths, perfect for walking, running, and cycling. It is also a haven for bird-watching, photography, drawing, and painting. History enthusiasts will be delighted by the abundance of monuments, churches, chapels, and medieval villages in the area. Ploërdut village itself boasts a stunning medieval church and is home to a Boulangerie, crêperie, two friendly bars, an eatery, and a self-service shop, all within walking distance of the house.
Within a short drive, guests can explore a multitude of interesting places, including the mysterious Chapelle St. Barbe, St. Fiacre, Le Faouet market hall, Les Rochers Du Diable for white water kayaking, the picturesque Vallee-du-Scorff for picnicking, and the peaceful Lac de Guerladan for boating from a tree-shaded beach. Additionally, there are numerous local street markets to visit, such as Hennebont, Rostrenen, and Vannes.

MiKa-GaLe itself is more than just a holiday accommodation; it is a true home-away-from-home. The traditional Breton stone longere has been fully renovated while retaining its unique character features, such as exposed beams, wooden floors, a stone fireplace, French doors, shutters, gabled windows, and exposed stone work. On the ground floor, guests will find a modern fully-fitted kitchen equipped with all the necessary appliances and utensils. The open-plan kitchen leads to a spacious dining room and a cozy lounge with comfortable sofas, a TV/DVD player, and a wide selection of entertainment options. French doors open out to the garden and sun terrace, providing scenic views and the perfect setting for outdoor dining and relaxation. The ground floor also includes a laundry area, utilities room, and a toilet.
Upstairs, three beautifully decorated bedrooms await, each with its own ensuite bathroom featuring a shower, toilet, and vanity. Two bedrooms offer double beds, while the third has two single beds. Additionally, one of the bedrooms includes a sofa bed, and fold-away beds can be arranged if needed. All bedrooms boast magnificent views of the garden and surrounding countryside. The house is well-insulated and benefits from central heating throughout.
Outside, the large garden offers separate areas, including quiet lawned spaces under old apple trees and designated areas for summer BBQs. Families traveling with children will appreciate the extensive and enclosed garden, providing plenty of safe and open spaces for play and exploration. The property also features an orchard with apple, pear, plum, and apricot trees, allowing guests to enjoy the delicious fruits. On-site private parking is available for guests' convenience.
Rates for MiKa-GaLe are based on a Saturday change-over day, with bookings preferred on a weekly basis. However, shorter stays can be arranged upon special request. A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a booking, with the balance of payment and a security/damage deposit due one month before the arrival date. Rates include a welcome basket of local goodies, all linen and towels, heating, gas, electricity, logs for the wood-burner during the winter season, a 'meet and greet' service by the property manager, and end-of-stay cleaning.
