Description:

Description for B&B:

The Seigniory of Gerbe, established in the 16th century, experienced significant expansion during the 18th century under the ownership of Claude de Guerin de Chermont. Claude, a trusted adviser to the king and esteemed President treasurer of France at Moulins, played a pivotal role in its growth.

By the late 18th century, the Seigniory had come under the ownership of the influential Lord of Racault, known as the Count of Reuilly. The Count held esteemed positions such as Mestre of camp of dragons, Chevalier of the Order of St-Louis, and Lieutenant of the Guards of Monseigneur the Count d'Artois.

The Orangery, spanning an impressive length of 16 meters, was an exquisite feature of the estate. It overlooked the main courtyard, serving as a connecting point between the two square towers and the round tower. With its grandeur emphasized by five immense windows, the Orangery bathed the space in natural sunlight, illuminating the mandarin trees and other citrus fruits from midday until night.

A delightful stroll down a 400-meter path lined with lime and plane trees led to the court of the Castle. This enchanting courtyard, adorned with a charming basin and fountain, provided a warm welcome for guests, offering a serene and inviting atmosphere.
