Description for B&B:

We offer two charming B&B studios that boast lovely garden views. Each studio is fully equipped with a private bathroom and a convenient kitchenette for those who prefer self-catering options. We offer the flexibility of serving breakfast either in the comfort of your room or in the main house. Our studios are ideal for couples, two couples, or families of four, as they feature a double bed on a raised mezzanine level and a sofa bed on the ground level. With their beautiful design, these studios provide a relaxing and delightful place to stay, whether it's for a short weekend getaway or an extended week-long vacation.

As our B&B guest, you will have the opportunity to enjoy our enchanting gardens, refreshing swimming pool, and access to tea and coffee making facilities. Additionally, we offer the option of indulging in our delectable home-cooked meals through our table d’hôte service (advance booking required). Our breakfasts are a true delight, featuring fresh bread and croissants sourced from the village boulangerie each morning. We serve them alongside our mouthwatering homemade jams, as well as fresh juices, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. We provide off-street and garage parking, ensuring convenient accommodation for cars, bikes, and even the occasional horse!

Description for Gite

Our gite, originally built as a watermill in the late 18th century, is highly regarded as one of the best equipped and perfectly situated accommodations in the region. We firmly believe that it should be cherished and enjoyed rather than left empty, and as former residents ourselves, we have paid meticulous attention to every detail.

Whether you are a couple, a family, or a group of up to six people, our gite offers an ideal holiday location. Its versatility lies in its spacious kitchen, bathroom, living room (featuring a cozy alcove bed), separate twin bedroom, and breathtaking grenier, which encompasses the entire top floor. The grandeur and elegance of the space far surpass its price tag – it is incredibly difficult to tear yourself away!

The interior is beautifully complemented by a terrace that overlooks the two-acre gardens, nature reserve, tranquil streams, and picturesque fields. It is the perfect spot to observe the abundant bird and wildlife, unwind with a cold beer or a glass of rosé, or simply watch the children play in the garden. The old millstream, flowing safely around the gite, provides a soothing soundscape that ensures a peaceful and restful night's sleep.

The surrounding area offers an array of activities, from kayaking and yoga to fishing, walking, and cycling. The possibilities are so numerous that it is impossible to list them all here. We recommend visiting our website or contacting us directly for the most up-to-date information. Additionally, we are delighted to announce that we have added a large children's playground to the mill island for 2015, complete with swings, a slide, a climbing tower, and a rope ladder.

Directions

The gite and BB can be found at Chantegrolle, Charroux, 86250. It is approximately an hour's drive from either Poitiers or Limoges. Depending on the direction you are coming from, we are either the first or last house in the village of Charroux. You will easily spot the sign and recognize the gite if you have seen the pictures on our website.

If you are traveling from La Havre or Caen, the journey to Charroux takes around six hours. However, with stops, it is more likely to take about eight hours from Calais.

If you are not comfortable driving in France, no worries! We offer regular pick-up services from Poitiers and Limoges airports in our minibus. Additionally, some guests choose to travel by Eurostar, change in Paris, and arrive at Poitiers train station, where we can also arrange to collect them.

If you have any questions before your holiday, please feel free to email or call Chris or Lucy.
