Located on Barthelasse Island, at the base of La Cité des Papes, the Domaine de Rhodes is a historic hunting lodge from the 16th century that was once a thriving vineyard. This charming property offers a peaceful retreat for guests seeking a unique and historically-rich experience.Nestled within a 2-hectare park, the Domaine de Rhodes features six holiday rentals. The main house houses an apartment for four people, boasting a contemporary design, as well as a studio with charming decorations. In the park, guests can find three small cottages and a gypsy caravan, each accommodating two people. These accommodations provide comfort and simplicity, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the heart of nature.
The expansive park, filled with century-old plane, cedar, and pine trees, offers a serene setting for relaxation. During the summer months, guests can also enjoy the refreshing pool and take advantage of various secluded spots perfect for napping, reading, or simply enjoying some peace and tranquility. If you are traveling by car from Lyon, Marseille, or Nice, take the A7 motorway and exit at Avignon Nord (exit 23). Then, follow the signs for Avignon Centre.
If you are coming from Montpellier, take the A9 motorway and exit at Remoulins (exit 23). From there, follow the signs for Avignon Centre.
Once you are at Avignon Centre, cross the Daladier bridge and the first arm of the Rhône. Take the second right, which leads to the Rhône (road sign: CD 228). Follow this road along the Rhône for about 2 miles until you reach a roundabout. Take the first exit at the roundabout and follow the signs for "Domaine de Rhodes" for about 2 kilometers.
If you prefer to travel by train, both Avignon TGV station and Avignon Centre station are just a 15-minute journey away.
For those traveling by plane, Avignon Caumont airport is a 25-minute drive from Avignon. Marseille Provence airport is approximately 1 hour away, and Nice Côte d'Azur airport is about 2 hours and 15 minutes away.
