Description for B&B:
St. John Commandery of Artin is a unique guest house that offers a delightful living experience amidst its captivating court, cellars, and garden. Originally a hospital order of St. John of Jerusalem, this commandery was transformed into a charming farm after the Revolution. The barn, stables, and bread oven, all carved into the rock, still stand as a testament to its rich history. Our four guest rooms, namely Aunis, Gamay, Jasnières, and Vouvray, pay homage to the flourishing vineyards that surround us. Additionally, we have a spacious family room called Jasnières, which can comfortably accommodate up to five people. Nestled in the old granary of the main farmhouse, this room exudes a timeless charm with its exposed beams and polished plaster, creating a tranquil and contemporary ambiance. For those who relish a leisurely morning, we also offer a delectable Sunday brunch, available upon reservation.
At St. John Commandery, we take pride in our regional cuisine and wine culture. Upon reservation, we extend an invitation to our guests to join us for the renowned "meal of the Commandery." In this convivial atmosphere, we delight in introducing you to our esteemed local producers. Our host, a true connoisseur of food and wine, crafts exquisite alternatives for our guests to savor. Prepare to be amazed!
To enrich your stay, we organize various activities for our guests, including tasting courses, workshops, and sensory games for both young and old. These events are designed to provide a delightful experience for all, allowing you to bond with your loved ones while enhancing your knowledge and appreciation of taste. Join us for a wine tasting session, where you can indulge in the art of wine tasting and participate in sensory tests that will deepen your understanding of this exquisite beverage.
