Description for B&B:

Les Bruyeres at Verteuil sur Charente offers exceptional location, facilities, and accommodation. Whether you are searching for a new home, enjoying a relaxing holiday, or just passing through, this charming establishment is hard to beat. The property is currently for sale, so please contact the owners for more information.

Located in the picturesque Charente countryside with its stunning sunflower and sweetcorn fields, you may stumble upon the delightful village of Verteuil, just five minutes south of the bustling market town of Ruffec. The village is nestled beside the river Charente, with the walls of a 15th-century chateau overlooking its tranquil streets. Here, you will find three cafe/bars, two restaurants, as well as various shops like bakers, butchers, and a general store.

Upon entering Les Bruyeres, you will be greeted by a private courtyard enclosed by high walls. In the summer, the courtyard is adorned with beautiful hanging baskets and flower arrangements. At the back of the courtyard, there is a spacious open barn providing secure, covered parking for up to six cars.

The accommodation at Les Bruyeres consists of three spacious bedrooms, each with its own en suite bathroom. These rooms are located in a converted barn that has retained many of its original features, such as exposed beams and dressed Charantaise stone. The bedrooms are equipped with central heating and offer ample storage space, as well as English to French electric adapters, hairdryers, and radio/CD alarms. Daily room service is provided, including towel changes if desired. Shampoo, shower gel, and soap are also provided. Additionally, a baby cot or extra camp bed can be arranged upon request.

The ground floor family room features a double bed, two wardrobes, and a sitting area with comfortable chairs, a coffee table, and a sofa that converts into a double bed for families. The two first-floor double rooms offer a variety of sleeping arrangements, including a combination of double and single beds. Both rooms are furnished with dressing tables, easy chairs, and built-in wardrobes.

One unique feature of Les Bruyeres is the fully fitted kitchen available exclusively for guests. This kitchen is equipped with a four-ring electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge, kettle, coffee percolator, slow cooker, toaster, steamer, and a full range of pots, pans, casseroles, and utensils. Guests can also find crockery, glasses, and cutlery, as well as a dining table that can accommodate up to eight people. Complimentary tea and coffee are available at all times. The dining kitchen area also offers English TV with FreeView channels, a selection of board games and videos, as well as information on local attractions and dining options. WIFI internet access is available throughout the property.

For guests who may need laundry facilities, there is a separate laundry area with washing, drying, and ironing facilities.

The owners of Les Bruyeres are happy to assist guests in any way they can. If you are looking to buy a property or renovate one, they can provide guidance and answer any questions you may have. They are also available to provide advice on local attractions and places to visit for those seeking a relaxing break.

In addition to the courtyard and kitchen, Les Bruyeres also offers a sun terrace with a covered gazebo, perfect for enjoying breakfast in the morning sun. The lawned garden features a pergola walkway and enjoys sunlight from early morning to late afternoon.

Appréciations pour Les Bruyeres, Verteuil sur Charente:

TR3 recalcitrante..!!!!

Excellente adresse
Lovely !

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days while looking for a house to buy Fabulous location overlooking the Charente. To have a full kitchen at ones disposal in a B&B is rare and very much appreciated. We were given lots of useful information regarding the area and before we left had bought a house in the village. Thank you Adam and Jan for such an enjoyable comfortable stay.

Unobtrusive hosts Jan and Adam were welcoming, friendly and informative. A relaxed and laid-back manner is the signature of their business. On-site parking was important to us as was the proximity of the property to the attractive centre of Verteuil. A three or four minute walk across two little bridges spanning the Charente river and you're there! Our accommodation was bright, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Many guests return to Les Bruyeres time and again and my wife and I will be following suit. Highly recommended.
parfait !
