Description for B&B:

Welcome to La Vieille Distillerie, a beautifully restored Maison de Maitre from the mid-nineteenth century, complete with its own historic Cognac distillery. Experience the warmth of our hospitality, especially during the winter months, as our centrally heated house invites you with cozy log fires and enchanting candlelit dinners.

Located in the captivating south Charente region, there are endless activities to enjoy. Immerse yourself in culinary delights with cookery classes, such as the renowned Chez Cartier with Reza Mahammed. Delve into the world of Cognac with visits to local distilleries, or indulge in wine-tasting experiences. For those seeking more active pursuits, we offer golf, fishing, horse-riding, and bird-watching opportunities. Explore the rich history of the area through visits to picturesque towns and villages, each boasting fascinating Chateaux and gardens.

Nestled in the peaceful hamlet of Le Tatre, just 4 kms off the N10 route to the South and Spain, our location is ideal for a convenient stopover or as a base for exploring the breathtaking French countryside. Surround yourself with vineyards, sunflower fields, and rolling landscapes. The serene roads are perfect for cyclists, walkers, and birdwatchers, offering glimpses of the enchanting Hoopoe, Black Redstart, Serin, Black Kite, and Zetting Cisticole in the Le Tatre area.

Moreover, our proximity to the borders of three Departments – the Charente Maritime, the Gironde, and the Dordogne – makes us an excellent choice for house hunters. Within a stone's throw from our house, you will find a fishing lake and a tennis court. As a picturesque addition, an eleventh-century church overlooks our charming garden.

Appréciations pour La Vieille Distillerie, Le Tatre:

Pour une nuit
Review by: Rémy et Agnès , Sep 22 2019 7:27PM
